How can i compare two images?

for example in face detection one image will be saved in the data base of the matlab and the other image is taken instantly and comparing the two image if they are similar or not.
I have already have the detection program that can detect the Mouth, Nose, face. But how can i compare the two images.

Try using imabsdiff
