writing complex userinterfaces using another platform on matlabcode

Hi All,

I've got to program complex (multi-user) interfaces. Doing so in the GUI within matlab is, to say the least, a horror. Does anyone have experience with using other latform to write userinterfaces that can adress matlab code?
