Do I need to install again after format ?

I installed on D and after format I am not sure that re-install matlab again. matlab opened cleanly. How can I get-back windows start-menu etc. shortcuts for matlab

Just create a new shortcut on the desktop and browse to the location of MATLAB for the target. You may then have to browse to pick the MATLAB icon.

You also probably will have lost the file associations, etc., as well, but those can also be reset/added in System Settings -- typing "File Associations" in the Windows search/start box will give you a link...
