MATLAB Grader records each student's submissions along with the time and date of submission, and flags submissions after the due date and time. This can be seen in the reports feature of each assignment. MATLAB Grader itself does not prevent students from submitting late, it is up to the professors to decide what grade to assign these flagged submissions. The instructor should set clear expectations and communicate with students their policy on late submissions in terms of docking points or zeroing out the score entirely.
If an instructor wants to prevent students from submitting outside the timed window for a particular assignment, there is a solution: create a unique MATLAB Grader course for the assignment and set the due date. After the due date has passed, use the reports feature to export all student solutions, then unenroll all students. Don’t delete the assignment.
If an instructor has a blanket policy of no late submissions, they will have to create a unique course for each assignment in the term.
If an instructor needs to give a student more time on an assignment, they can re-enroll the student and the student will be able to see and continue on their previous work.
Integrating MATLAB Grader in an LMS gives instructors more control over assessments and student activity, and instructors are encouraged to explore this option as a solution.
