I would like to use the Dual Active bridge Control template for high power load. I am considering the 1MW DC power load, and the output voltage as 1500 Vdc. No matter how I change the input, switched frequency and H, the output voltage will drop when the load higher than 300 kW. Does anyone know how to use this DAB model for high power load?
Thanks!

Hi @Lizhi,

After reviewing the documentation DAB provided at the link below,

https://www.mathworks.com/discovery/dual-active-bridge.html

it is beneficial that you do some research work before implementing it in Simulink, I would like to tell you ahead of time that I don’t have access to Simulink since it requires payment for license. But I am trying to help you out to accomplish your goal. So, for your 1MW DC application, it is crucial to ensure that the control parameters are optimally tuned. The output voltage drop you are experiencing when the load exceeds 300 kW may be attributed to insufficient modulation strategy or inadequate control loop tuning. I will consider implementing advanced modulation techniques, such as phase shift modulation, which can enhance the performance under varying load conditions. Additionally, ensure that the transformer and inductor are appropriately sized to handle the increased power levels without saturation.

Since you have access to Simulink and Simscape Electrical, you can simulate various control strategies and adjust parameters like switching frequency and duty cycle to achieve better performance. It may also be beneficial to explore soft-switching techniques to minimize losses and improve efficiency. Lastly, reviewing the thermal management of your system is essential, as overheating can lead to performance degradation. By addressing these factors, you should be able to optimize the DAB model for your high power load requirements.

Final note would be clicking the link below to help you steer in the right direction about your struggle of DAB model for high power load
