This is not a programming question but I urgently need help for my master degree.
Can anyone please explain me, why does action potential happen later, after the stimuli has already finished? In the picture is with blue color Membrane potential and with red stimulus with which I stimulated the Hodgkin Huxley model of neuron.

The reason for the delayed response is most likely that the Hodgkin–Huxley neuron model consists of a set of nonlinear differential equations similar to those of an electrical circuit. All types of differential equations exhibit transient responses. In other words, even though the stimuli have stopped, the excitations from the last signal will persist in the dynamics of the Hodgkin–Huxley neuron model.

Thank you. So you think this is only because of the model itself, the delay doesn't have biological background in case of a single neuron (model)?
I was thinking that pershaps the time constats of the model might have something to do with it, but I need to confirm this yet.

@Marina Babic, You're welcome. Since your query is not related to MATLAB programming, I can only make an educated guess based on the Hodgkin–Huxley neuron's mathematical model.
