Problem Sets from Matlab Grader in Brightspace

I keep seeing "Only a single MATLAB Grader assessment item can be linked to a single assignment in the LMS grade book" but that can't possibly make any sense. Usually a homework assignment has 8-10 problems in it. Is the idea really that I would create 8-10 homework assignments per week, and then weight them to create a "Homework 1 Average" and then do the same for each week? I just set up a course in Matlab grader with 12 assignments, with about 8 problems each and had hoped to have the grades populate automatically into the LMS, but now its seeming like that's not what's going on? Can someone help me understand?

The LTI integration of MATLAB grader currently functions at the problem level. That means each MATLAB Grader component in your LMS is linked to one MATLAB Grader problem in your collection. You can then organize a group of problems using tools provided by the LMS to create a single assignment.
What you describe sounds like a great enhancment request for MATLAB Grader. I would suggest submitting that here: https://www.mathworks.com/support/contact_us.html

Since you have already organized everything in a course hosted at grader.mathworks.com, another option is to invite your students to your course and have them complete the assignments there. However, you would then have to extract the grades and get them into Brightspace yourself.

I can submit this, but is this really how everyone else uses it? Or have you all just recently pushed out LMS integration? Part of the reason I'm asking is because I'd seen something about how you could use Respondus Monitor to give a test by integrating with LMS and using Matlab Grader, but I'm struggling to see how someone is giving a one-question exam. Maybe they're "rigging" it by embedding an entire exam in one question?

I can't speak for others, but this is how it is currently designed to be used.
Those who use a course hosted on grader.mathworks.com invite the learners to the course. Learners then complete the assignments at grader.mathworks.com. Courses or their assignments cannot be integrated into an LMS.
If you want to use LMS integration, then you should not create a course at grader.mathworks.com. Instead, organize the problems into a collection, and then from the integrated grader component in your LMS, sign into your MathWorks account, and in the Add Problem screen, copy a single problem into that component. Add one activity for each problem.

Oi, okay. That seems like a whoooollllleee lotta problems to be individually adding to an LMS. Here's hoping that full assignments can get added here in a bit - I'd love to be able to use LMS functionality, specifically lockdown monitor, for giving full exams. Thank you!
