Where to find Hash Sums of Matlab Downloads?

Hello,

I receive my Installer via my local departments Server.

Today Ive asked to try the Linux Package, so the person in charge added it for me to access.

After copy/pasting it multiple times to different storages, I tried unpacking it on my Linux machine with multiple archive managers, and all of them failed at some point.

Therefor I conclude the archive is corrupted.

To simply double check, I tried to look the Hash Sums of Matlab up, but couldnt find them.

I suspect they might be available in the download section - behind some login with privileges I dont have.

I think this should be solved by just releasing the Hash Sums public, so all the low level staff like me :) do not need to bother their IT departments again and again for something so casual they can help themselfs with.

Maybe you can help me rather quick too: Are these hashes right?

I just tried the Get ISOs route; after I chose the release and platform, I did indeed get shown

 Download details:

Likewise when I used Install Products instead of Get ISOs, then after I selected the release and platform, I was shown

Your replies do not help at all and I dont see why you repeat it:

The Hash sums are NOT available for public.

I need them to be available for public and not this "Gatekeeping" hidden behind some login, as I explained because there are thousand of users who do not have a Matlab Account or License Key BUT receiver their installer - with the License already integrated - by their departments. Like I do.

Therefor, 1 Admin that has access to the hash sums does not help 1000 Users who wanna verify if their copied installer is corrupted.

Then ask your Admin to make the hashsums public for your 1000 users - if he/she is allowed to do so.

You should start reading the Questions and reply with proper content inline, and not enforce to push your opinions on others what they should do or dont.

My intention is to ask Matlab - not some random user - to make them public. End of the story.

Actually, its a no brainer what are the benefits and why I ask, together with the fact that it has zero downsides to make hash sums public.

I got the hash for my package by my admin now -

but that does not help the next user, or for the next package.

Its a shame neither hash files are available for download, nor that its public. So our IT needs to manually do the labor, copy&paste the info, for every single download. Thats twice the time it takes. What a waste.

Thus, if you want to reach Mathworks rather than some random MATLAB user, then creating a Support case is the way to go.

I gave you advice on how to get the information you need - and it seems that you did what I suggested and got the info. It's a good hint that TMW should make the hashsums accessible in my opinion. Why are you so angry about such a small thing ?

There is currently no way to obtain the MD5 hash for MathWorks downloads if you do not have the ability to download the MathWorks Installer from your account. The hash is displayed after downloading an installation package from our website, so if you don't have access to download the package, you can request the info from whomever initially downloaded the installer.

First you advice for "gatekeeped" Hashes,

than you seriously ask me if the language is the issue but delete the post again,

than you tell me what I should do or dont while the question is about what Matlab should do or not do,

than you post another offtopic link for built in certificates,

Well, I agree that I didn't understand first what your main concern was, namely to get access to the correct hash sums from TMW. But as Walter says, MATLAB Answers is not an official support venue for Mathworks itself; it is for Mathworks users helping other Mathworks users. So there is no reason to leave out your frustration here. And I can assure you that I'm happy not to work in your team.
