Hello, new road runner user here. We have a USD (or FBX) file we are importing into RoadRunner. This mesh represents terrian and other features that have been generated in a 3rd party application. We would like to layout a road network on top of the mesh. The goal of the network is to have a higher fedility visual of the road network and also generate standard network metadata.
What is the best appraoch to this. I can't seem to snap or align the road network to the surface. What other support files or data would make this possible?
I can get a elevation file as a .tif format, would this help to correct aligh a network or roadsection to the geometery of the mesh?
TIA

Hi Will,
As per my understanding, you can import an orthophoto and an elevation map into RoadRunner and use RoadRunner to project the map onto the elevation map such that the exported map contains the correct elevation profile. Then using the Road Plan Tool, create a road that runs over the elevations.
However, it may require some manual adjusting. The less road control points a road has, the smoother it will be. You can better align the height of the two roads where they meet using the 2D editor. Additionally, F3 will toggle wireframe view which helps identify geometry a lot easier. Adjusting the connecting road to better align with the existing road, the geometry can be improved.
Attaching some documentation links for your reference.
