Cannot load .dbc file in CAN Explorer

When trying to open a .dbc file in CAN Explorer I get the following error popup:

"Database Configuration Error

Protocol type of database files not supported:

"C\Users\___database.dbc"

"

I am able to open the .dbc file in CANdb++. I'm using J1939 messages, does CAN explorer support the J1939 protocol?

There's a limitation and CANExplorer does not support J1939 data.
