I am having a project for rack and pinion in steering system and i am going to use simulate this system by simscape multibody. My question is how can i input the force and torque that prevent the motion of all system (it makes driver use more effort to steer) such as friction in steering mechanism or force by the contact of tire and road into my model and take the output at the end of simulation? I use rack and pinion model example of matlab . Please help me for get over this super project. Thank u all!

Hello Minh, I think there is an easy way to determine the torque from pinion by using "Composite Force/Torque" function inside the "Revolute Joint" which connected to pinion. You can test this by giving some motion for rack and sensing torque from pinion. And the model of road's friction you can get from "Vehicle Dynamic Blockset" - "Tire model". Hope this's helpful for you.
From Long with love.
Here is the link that can help you understand more clearly.
This is the link helps you sense the force for the connection between solid and solid using Weld Joint. You can export plot for your report.
This is what you also need - Model a Wheel contact in a Car.This contain "Spatial Contact Force" block which is avalaible in 2019b, check your version before using this.
