How to set a RAM limit, so that if it gets passed, the simulation gets killed?

I just want to know if there's a way to set a memory limit for MATLAB, so that it doesn't get too high on memory and crashes the computer or the server.

Thank you for your reply, I already saw this question, but the solution, as far as I understood it, was to limit the maximum size of an array that Matlab can create, and not the whole workspace alltogether.

What I'm seeking is a way to limit the memory used by the whole workspace, i.e., the combined size of all arrays used in the code, because limiting the size of arrays only would work only when all the arrays are equivalent in my code, which is not necessarily the case.

Not possible. The code would become extremely slow because MATLAB had nothing more to do than permanently check if the memory limit will be exceeded by the next operation.

It is possible that Microsoft has added tools since the above was posted in 2017.
