setup shows only a black installer window

I have downloaded the full installtion.

When I start the setup I get a black window.

Fastest route to success? Do exactly what is says in the FAQ:

What is all that advertising doing there? I don't know what to think. Looks very unprofessional.

It's a wiki. A free wiki started by the community and that's how they make their money. It's not like wikipedia.org that begs/nags you for money twice a year. We volunteers have no ability to set up pages in the Mathworks.com site so this is what we did. Sorry you don't like the ads but I guess you're used to them since nearly every site out there has them.

So, did you do what it said to do in the FAQ? Call the Mathworks? What did they say? If you refused to call them for fast and free help, then please share why you did not want to do that.

A reboot did solve the problem.

But it was not the first time that the setup did not start corrcet.

When it worked, did it start up immediately or did it take a minute? How long did you wait the first time? Was it several minutes?

Next time, if you're using Windows, type control-shift-Esc to bring up task manager and see if any other process is consuming most of the CPU time. Perhaps MATLAB Setup had to wait for some other process to finish.
