How do I get the normal single window interface back after updating matlab?

This is driving me nuts, why matlab people change interface after update?

Now I have 2 awkward windows that I don't know how to merge.

The interface is legacy software and is so unintuitive...

I don't touch any settings in matlab because I know I won't be able to get things back if it breaks.

Now, after an update...
