I am trying to install MATLAB (version R2022a) on my Mac (MacOS Monteray, Ver 12.1 (21C52)).
I have downloaded the installer and opened the zip file, entered apple permissions and at this point, the product installer window opens, but is empty. Nothing appears in the window.
Is it that R2022a is not compatible with my Mac as it says it is compatible with Monteray version 12, but does this include Ver 12.1 which is what I have?
If not, what else could be wrong?

Hi Jemima,
I understand that you are facing issues while installing MATLAB (version R2022a) on your Mac Monterey, Ver 12.1.
MATLAB R2022a should be compatible with macOS Monterey, including version 12.1. The version number "12.1" is a minor update to macOS Monterey, and software compatibility typically extends across the updates. So, the issue you're facing is likely not due to a compatibility problem.
To address the issue of the empty product installer window, you can try the following steps:
1. Re-download the Installer: It's possible that the installer file you downloaded is corrupted. Delete the current installer and download it again from the official MathWorks website to ensure you have a clean copy.
You can download the installer from here: Download MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow and Other MathWorks Products
2. Check macOS Security & Privacy Settings:
- Open "System Preferences" on your Mac.
- Go to "Security & Privacy."
- Under the "General" tab, you may see a message saying that the installer was blocked. Click the "Allow" button to grant permission for the installer to run.
3. Try executing from Terminal: Open Terminal, navigate to the directory where the installer is located, and then run it using “. /install”. This can sometimes provide additional error messages that may help diagnose the issue.
4. Clear Temporary Files: Sometimes, temporary files or caches can interfere with the installer. Try deleting any temporary files associated with the installer and then run it again.
5. Contact MathWorks Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's a good idea to contact MathWorks customer support for assistance. They can provide specific guidance and troubleshooting steps for your situation.
Before proceeding with any troubleshooting, make sure you have a backup of your important data just in case anything goes wrong during the installation process.
I hope this helps!
Regards,
Nivedita.
