How can I use ActiveX to make Word 2010 format a table cell?

I'm having some issues with using ActiveX COM interface with Word 2010. So far, I am able to generate a table in the following way.

word = actxserver('word.application');
set(word,'visible',1);
doc1 = invoke(word.documents,'add');
doc1.Tables.Add(word.Selection.Range, 3,4,1,1);

How can I set properties of individual cells? For example, if I want to erase the boards of cell(2,3).
