Pump scheduling and optimization

I am trying to use Matlab program with the linkage of Epanet for water distribution network optimization. Firstly, I want to minimize th energy cost. I have a big problem in pumps scheduling. I want to use GA for pump scheduling optimization. Please, could you help me how to code the pump operation on Matlab then analying the network on Epanet to find the best solution. I want to put a pump schedule 0,1,1,0,0...........1 on Matlab then analyse the network to choose the best pump scheduling.
