Data cursor combined with 'brush' in UIAxes

I'm trying to create a UIFigure where both data-brushing and the data cursor are activated in R2020b without success.

From reading other questions here it seems like the datacursor option isn't implemented yet . Also, trying to set the data curser mode for the whole figure

datacursormode(app.UIFigure, 'on')

breaks the data-brushing capability of the UIFigure.

Is this feature being implemented for the new release? Are there any workarounds?
