How can I draw a Contour Plot that looks like this?

How are your data organized? What defines gaps? There are naturally gaps in any discrete representation, and contour cannot guess that some should be interpolated and some not. If you are able to define the location of these gaps, you can superimpose white or semi-transparent patches to indicate their locations.

Okay,thanks for your response, (1)the data are organized in month of the year, time from 1 am to 24 hours and the last one is Tec value in matrices form. (2) what i meant by data gap for the first contour is that, there are no data to use for those period, that was why it appears white (the white line). But the second contour has full data.

What algorithm did you use to get rid of the white stripes of missing data to get your "full data" image? Or did you? Or is that your question? If your question is how to get rid of gaps, then tell us how the "full data" image was created.

I think that the problem is that he wants to have the gaps visible in the figure, and contourf interpolates. Esolomo, you probably want to pad gaps with NaN elements.

Thanks all, they are two different data set, I was trying to plot my own contour and make it appear like the first. Hope you understand me? I used contourf to do mine.

Could you attach (paperclip icon) your data, e.g. as a .mat file; it will be simpler to discuss if we can experiment a little with them.

Okay. You can replace the month values by using 1 to 12, if that will be easier.

There is no gap in your data. You seem to have monthly averages though, as there is only one value per month and per hour. The first figure that you display in your question was built using a finer data set, e.g. daily values.

Yes, I do have a monthly average and I do not have a gap in my data. so, if I use the daily values, I should have a similar plot like the first one, right?

Yes, if you had daily values, you would get the first plot. There might be a technical operation to perform, such as coding/padding gaps with NaN elements (if they aren't already present), so CONTOURF doesn't interpolate over gaps.
