spectral analysis of repeating damped sine wave

Hi,
I have a repeating damped sine wave in time domain and try to do some spectrum analysis of it. The problem is before the previous damped sine wave totally attenuated, the next one starts. So there is some region the two damped sine waves overlaps. Is there a way to separate them? What is the key word for such phenomenon? Thanks!
