3D modified truss finite element model for efficient and accurate modeling of thin origami structures. Considers elastic material model of trusses and hinges while capturing geometric nonlinearities. Implemented generalized displacement control method for nonlinear path following, periodic boundary constraints using Lagrange multiplier approach, and eigenvalue perturbation analysis for bifurcation branch following. Topology of optimization of fold patterns enabled through gradient-based techniques.
