The attached ZIP file contains a tutorial for using the SonnetLab Toolbox for MATLAB®. SonnetLab is a free MATLAB® toolbox that enables users to control and automate Sonnet's 3D planar electromagnetic simulator.
The attached archive contains a Sonnet Project in the form of a two branch coupler. The included script will optimize the coupler’s size using a random optimization routine.
The script will first add symmetric dimension parameters to the sides of the coupler and then modify their values to produce ten different sized couplers. The script will analyze each coupler and determine which of the ten optimization iterations has the lowest return loss at 5 GHz.
The attached archive includes a document that describes every line of code in detail.
This tutorial requires the latest version of SonnetLab. SonnetLab can be downloaded from the Sonnet Software website: http://sonnetsoftware.com/support/sonnet-suites/sonnetlab.html
Please Note: SonnetLab was developed in conjunction with Syracuse University and is not a Sonnet Software supported product. Sonnet Software does not provide any warranty, either expressed or implied, for the SonnetLab toolbox for MATLAB.
