white gaussian noise

hello to u! i have a problem when i use awgn lets say i have this signal x=cos(2*pi*f*t) and then i do that x_noise=awgn(x,10,0) now 10 means the power of the noise in db and 0 is the power of the original signal? or its oposit? thanks!

y = awgn(x,snr, sigpower) is the same as the syntax above, except that sigpower is the power of x in dBW.
