Reading digital input and giving out output using ni-daq

Hi all,

I am new to matlab. I was given this http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/1041 I believe I can use matlab and send out a DO and recieve DI. How to do that? More importantly how to make matlab recongize that ni-daq. Is there any additional software I need to download? (I dl all the driver given in that site already)
