How do I draw the surface fo this? With cos z=sqrt (x^2+y^2) -3 ≤ z ≤ 3

Judging by the tag you have already tried meshgrid. Where did you get stuck in solving this?

The picture is showing how it should look. I dont know how to script in matlab to plot that figure.
