I have gaps in edges in Canny Edge Detection

How to make longer edges in Canny edge detection algorithm??? Please explain about edge linking..I mean plz explain about 8 -connectivity for connecting weak edges with strong edges to make longer edges...

You could try IMCLOSE.

Actually I want to work at pixel level...so that I can know what actually is happening...so i can have a feel of it.
