Does Embedded coder require Simulink ?

If I want to use embedded coder do I need to have simulink ? Can I just use MATLAB and MATLAB coder ? Is MATLAB coder required ?

The Embedded Coder product is an add-on to Simulink, in the sense that it generates code for embedded processors from Simulink models. If you simply want to generate code from MATLAB, MATLAB Coder is what you need.

Hmmmm, no I was hoping to generate embedded code for a particular target but not have to use Simulink. but thanks for your answer

Embedded Coder works with MATLAB Coder. It does not require Simulink. Many Embedded Coder features are only supported with Simulink Coder. Be sure the features you need work with MATLAB Coder before making a purchase.
