MATLAB as Internet bot

I wonder whether MATLAB could be used to surf webpages collect data and analyse it? also can I MATLAB to open a windows software installed in my laptop and enter values, run the program, get results for me instead of human doing the job?

Could some one answer me this and guide me through?
