Machine initialization_Diesel generator
이전 댓글 표시
Hi,
I want to model an islanded microgrid concept with diesel generator with loads, so after doing load flow/machine initialization in with diesel generator and saving the steady-state values, can I model the rest of the system with these saved values ? In that case, how do I calculate the power output of diesel, and asynchronous motor (as in the example). Is it the same as the rated power given in the blocks?Or will it change asper the load applied.?
Kindly advcie

Hi,
Yes, you can model the system with the saved steady state values.
The power output of both a diesel generator and an asynchronous motor in a microgrid system will generally change according to the load applied, rather than remaining fixed at their rated power. You can use "Scope" or "Display" block to visualize the voltage and current values. With these values, you can use the "Power" block to compute active and reactive powers of voltage-current pair at fundamental frequency. For more information on "Power" block, you can refer the following documentation:
In order to better understand the initialization of an induction motor/diesel-generator system for starting the simulation in steady-state, you can refer to the example on the following link:
Although, I believe there is no direct example in MathWorks Documentation for your use case, but you can refer to the following example to get some idea. This example shows the islanded operation of an inverter-based microgrid.
I hope it will give you some direction.

Zuber
