Get User Input

How to Get the user Input(image) to mathlab i know how to read the image from file ex:-imread('2.jpg') but how i give a path after insert it, do i need to use any database part or having any function to get the save file name after user save it???

FYI, the product is MATLAB (all caps), not mathlab.
