Simplest procedure to accelerate Simulink with Windows7 64 bit R2009b-R2012a

I am running Windows 7 64 bit and R2009b-R2012a I want to accelerate Simulink models. I would sooner not purchase a compiler if a free one is available. Has the Mathworks created a document to explain precisely how this is done? If so please send it (or link). Thank you.
