Display an imagie in 1:1 scale (pixel-for-pixel)

Whenever I display an image it gets scaled to fit the figure and the image quality get butchered.

Is there a way to make sure that images get displayed "pixel-for-pixel"?

I'm using the image command to display images.

Try the AXIS command:

axis image

Alternatively, if you have the Image Processing Toolbox you can simply use the IMSHOW function with Initial Magnification set to 100:

imshow('board.tif','InitialMagnification',100)
