No adaptor found for image processing Ubuntu 14.04

I have installed the OS generic Package with the linux files installed as shown below.

I am unsure if the gstream I have installed are satisfactory to enable it to work.

The actual issue is that the installed adaptor (linuxvideo) isn't showing up. Looking at the other forums there is a possiblity of it not working due to compatibility issues with ubuntu 14.04 and the generic hardware package.

I have tested my camera on my windows computer and it works perfectly where the generic OS uses 'winvideo'.
Lastly I have installed the following video4linux packages.
