Programming and Coding for Beginners

I'm new to MATLAB, no as such knowledge in coding or programming. My background is Economics and Finance. From where should I start to learn this software to write code on economic and financial models?

I would suggest starting with the basics. The Onramp course is provided by Mathworks for free and should provide a good basis for figuring out the rest with help of Google, the documentation, and this forum.
Thank you

And, depending upon what your interests and intents are in even looking at Matlab, there is a veritable plethora of domain-specific toolboxes https://www.mathworks.com/products.html?s_tid=gn_ps that could ease the development of most things one would be likely to want to do, undoubtedly, unless the idea is truly independent and original research, but even there it would likely be useful foundational toolset.
I'll explore.

The MATLAB Onramp course will help you learn the basics of working with MATLAB.
After that, for something more focused on how to use MATLAB in the financial field maybe look in your local library / bookstore / online bookstore for one of the MATLAB and Simulink based books in the Economics and Computational Finance category that deal with the specific aspect of economics and finance in which you're interested.
Thanks

I would strongly recommend first completing the MATLAB On Ramp. This will give you a quick general immersion in using MATLAB. Later you can look for toolboxes that are suited to your particular needs.
