For someone with knowledge on matlab and simulink,
how to learn Simscape in a structured way to create a strong foundation (without attending any paid courses ofc)? What are the documents that are available online/ Books/ other literature that can be used to achieve this feat based on your expertise? And how should one approach it to learn it in a structured way to build a strong foundation like i mentioned earlier? I'm very interested to know your answers and suggestions based on your past experiences to incorporate that and I hope, maybe this question will also be helpful for someone looking up to learn simscape in future. Thanks in advance!

I used a book before. As mentioned here on MATLAB webpage: https://www.mathworks.com/academia/books/kinematics-and-dynamics-of-mechanical-systems-russell.html , Kinematics and Dynamics of Mechanical Systems: Implementation in MATLAB and SimMechanics, 2nd edition book is useful.
You can find the book as online here: https://b-ok.as/book/3688464/892292 .

Hello Walter,
As a starter, you could check out the below link to MathWorks documentation which contains links to foundational Simscape concepts and tutorials:
Thanks

While everyone is different, what has helped me grasp Simscape was to progress in the following order, approximatley:
1) Mathworks documentation resources , e.g. How Simscape Simulation Works - MATLAB & Simulink (mathworks.com)
3) formulate my own models, starting with simple subsystems and gradually building-up complexity
All the best,
-Kirk
