Can MATLAB check if a certain program is installed?

Hello everyone,

I am designing a GUI using MATLAB App Designer, the final output of the GUI can only be obtained if (FreeFem++) program is installed.

So I want in the initial window of the GUI, when the user presses the start button, MATLAB checks if FreeFem++ is installed or not on the device; so that if Yes, it continues normally and if No, then another warning window appears.

in conclusion, is there a command to check if a certain program is installed or not?

You will probably need to check the registry. I have no idea at the moment which key is appropriate.
