smoothing parameter periodicity value

hi,

im using a filter that has a smoothing parameter. this is based on periodicity of data. my data is not periodic though.it is sampled at a constant rate though...how can i find periodicity? its a simple question but i have tried many of the how to on matlab and cant seem to figure it out...please help if you know

Nobody will be able to help with this kind of question unless you describe (or show!) your actual data.

Did you try the FFT? That will tell you how much of each "period" of sine wave exists in your signal.
