You will get little idea of skel. Also you can check here, where two name of the book listed in references section.

Thank you. I've seen the documentation. It has 4 books listed, but I don't know if any will have the algorithm used in the Matlab implementation of the 'skel' option.

What I would like to have is the specific book (with page number) or detailed algorithm description, the way it's done with the algorithm used for the bwmorph('thin') option:

Lam, L., Seong-Whan Lee, and Ching Y. Suen, "Thinning Methodologies-A Comprehensive Survey," IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, Vol 14, No. 9, September 1992, page 879, bottom of first column through top of second column.

I think that's information that a MathWorks programmer might have available. Hopefully they will provide it.
