How to assess the accuracy loss when switching from hourly to daily data collection?

Hey guys,

so right now I am trying to determine if it is possible to start collecting daily data (wind speed) at my measuring station instead of hourly data collection without a significant loss in quality.

My present solutions would include:

• Comparison of mean values via histograms
• Calculation and comparison of standard deviation and variance
• Execution of an F-Type Test

But I am not too convinced myself.

So of any of you have any ideas how to approach this let me know!
