I have a Simulink model to run in External mode by using the Simulink Desktop Real-Time, with MATLAB R2017b upgrade 8. The building process of the model report a succesfully message but stopped when trying to connect or load the model. The computer does not crash (as it ocurred with previous versions of MATLAB) but stopped Simulink as if it were waiting for a response of the operating system (or whatever).
The operating system is Windows 7. The Simulink model uses the Humusoft data adquisiton board AD622. The compiler installed in the computer is a supported one to the R2017b
Since the MATLAB R2014b version I have always problems with the Simulink Real-Time.
Thanks in advanced!

Hello,
I believe the model build works fine but the model is not able to connect.
For Simulink Desktop Real-Time we need a kernel installation in Windows for connect and run in real-time operations. The build works without this kernel.
You can verify if the kernel is already installed with this command,
>> rtwho
To install the kernel,
>> sldrtkernel -install
(and please click 'Yes' in the UAC dialogs that open)
You can verify that the kernel was installed by running,
>> rtwho
And when you try to connect the model now, it should work.
To uninstall the kernel,
>> sldrtkernel -uninstall
(And click 'Yes' in the UAC dialogs that open)
Hope this solves your issue.
Thanks,
Pranav

I was experiencing the same problem. My model run at the begenning then it topped even though I did not modify it. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall the kernel, but did not work.
I tried finally to delete the automatically generated folders:
- 'slprj'
- 'my_model_sldrt_win64'
By doing so it started working again, I don't have any idea why though.
My matlab version is: '9.14.0.2337262 (R2023a) Update 5'
