How can I save figures into structures?

I am creating a large number of different figures and plots and I want to save them in a nice structure similar to the ones used for data structures. How can I do this? Is it possible to save numeric matrices and cells in the same structure as figures and images?

What does "saving a figure" mean? Do you want to save the values of the contained diagrams, screen shots of the figures, save the figures to .fig files and store the file names? Are you looking for the SAVE command?
