C++ engPutVariable() memory limitation

Hey guys, since it is at the moment not possible to contact the support (I get always just get:

This paragraph is only seen by MathWorks IP addresses (inside).

Missing Handler Map

Your IP address is (null).)

I want to ask here if anybody knows if there is a way to work around the engPutVariable memory limitation (see here for an older thread: https://de.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/169881-c-engputvariable-memory-limitation) since it still seems to be around in Matlab 2017b.
