SUSE Linux でのインストーラの文字化け

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP2 でMATLAB@2018aのインストーラを起動すると文字化け してしまいます。
環境変数LANGにja_JP.UTF-8を設定しており ターミナル上で日本語表示出来る事は確認してあります。

RocyLinux8でも同様の現象が起き、以下で解決できました。ご参考まで。
