Reading .hdf data files

I downloaded data files which has .hdf at the end but the type is shown as "nc4". How to open that type of file to extract data for analysis?

I tried with fileinfo=hdfinfo('.......hdf') but it gives an error. When I tried opening by double clicking through Matlab, it still gives an error, but shows the file name as .........hdf.nc4

Are you sure they are not netcdf files? https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/netcdf.html
