Using Matlab with an iPhone App

Hi,

I am starting to develop an iPhone App. I am new to Objective-C but a long time Matlab user. I am wondering if anyone has comments or thoughts on how to integrate Matlab with an iPhone App. Say that a button on the phone retrieves some data and I want to use an .m file or a program I wrote in Matlab to do some complicated work on the data, how could this be accomplished and have a result sent back to the phone? Do I need to build an executable and call that from the Obj-C code or should I focus on making all the code written in Obj-C? Sorry, I don't mean to have an Objective-C or iPhone discussion, I just think it would be super powerful if this could be done in an easy way and we could write apps that utilize the power of Matlab!
