How to apply Leach Protocol to cluster whole network and select cluster head on the basis of distance and energy?

Hello Guys, I am an M.Tech student and I want serious life saving help in my thesis work. I have to write a code to do various things and i am totally new to this field and am ready to start from the scratch. First I want to create a network of finite sensor nodes and then I have to apply Leach protocol to cluster whole network and in each cluster select cluster head on the basis of distance and energy. I implore you people to please help me out and give me a direction to walk so that I can start my crusade. Please guide me regarding how to start it and which software should i use? Would Matlab be easily helpful in this and how can write such a code. I request again please guys, for many of you it might be a child's play however, for me it is an uphill task. Please tell me what to read and where to see tutorials to do this as I want to seriously learn it well.

Okay, I have gone back through Answers and tagged more articles containing discussion of LEACH. There are now over 56 discussions that can be reached by searching on tag:leach . At least one of them has a verbose breakdown of the steps required to implement a WSN with LEACH.. Several of them have LEACH source code. Several of them have links to LEACH source code.

Thanks Walter for your help. I have to start from the scratch but i dont know where to learn all ths. I already have a basic command on MATLAB but making codes for protocols is somewhat completely new for me. I dont want anyone to do it for me. All I want is to get a good advice to start.

Look at the level of detail in https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/344854-how-to-simulate-a-wireless-sensor-network-with-500-homogeneous-nodes-in-an-area-of-100-m-x-100-m-wit . You should be starting with something that is at least that detailed. Once you know exactly what steps need to be done for the overall protocol, you can start working on implementation details. The protocol details should have been sufficient to figure out what information needs to be retained for each node (except that possibly it might be missing the detail that it helps to have a unique node id for each node.)

Thanks again Walter. I am glad you are there Sir. Can you tell me where I can study about how to write code for any protocol on MATLAB. Because there are other protocols like reactive routing protocol and multipath routing, on which I have to write. And please tell that all this is not so tough because it gives nightmares sometimes. Its not that I am not good at programming however, its this subject which gives me goosebumps as I have never been taught about these things by anyone. You can understand.

If it is the MATLAB part that is a problem, write your first pass in some other language and then implement in MATLAB. (Though I can't say I would recommend you write the first pass in APL.)

No dear Sir. MATLAB is not a problem at all I have installed the latest 2018 version of it and I love it. Have taught it several students and I know all basics of this package. Its just that the protocols and how to code them and how to implement them and take out results. All these things make me go mad sometimes.
