Call a matlab app through website

Guys,

I am running a website and I have an idea to put some calculators (matlab based) on it. I am looking now for a best, but also easiest way to do so. I am not sure if I can use Production Sever also on my host. Now I had an idea to put some fields on the website to collect the input information, send it to the host, from the host send it to the local machine, do the calculation, send the results back to the host and then to the user. I am not really sure, will this be possible and will this be easier?
