How can i perform image fusion of 3D images which have third dimension more than 3?

I have two 3D images (141x512x512 double) which are attached. I want to fuse these images. When I tested using imfuse and it shows error message "Input images A and B must be MxN or MxNx3 numeric arrays." Is it possible to fuse 3D images which have the third dimensions more than 3? Could anyone help me with this? Thank you so much for the help.
