I have some complex number integration to solve.
Here is my equation: z=exp^(j*2*pi*f) H=(abs(2*z^(-1)-z^(-2)))^2
I want to calculate the integtion of H from f=0 to f=a
I use the int(), but it only return the function I write. It seems it can't calculate out the answer.
Is someone who know how to deal with the problem? Thank for your reply!

I would eliminate the abs call until the end, using it on the integrated function only after you evaluate it numerically.
Try this:
syms a f real
z(f) = exp(1j*2*pi*f);
H(f) = (2/z - 1/z^2)^2;
H = rewrite(H, 'sincos'); % Optional, If You Want a Trigonometric Result
IH = int(H, f, 0, a);
IH = simplify(IH, 'Steps', 20)

Thanks a lot.
You give me another way to think about the equation.
I transfer H(z) to trigonometric form, then get the final answer.

As always, my pleasure.
