Edge Clutter Reduction in a Graph

When a graph has a lot of edges, there is always an issue with edges clutter. There are some solutions that aim to reduce edges clutter in dense areas (see attachment for a typical result of edges bundling). Do you know if and how this could be implemented in Matlab?

I'm afraid there is currently no option for MATLAB's graph plot to do edge bundling.
